Two Gavin Sharpe goals helped Llannerchymedd celebrate their first league win in 12 attempts.
Not since their opening North Wales Coast West Premier match of the season, a 1-0 win at Glantraeth more than four months ago, had the Medd grabbed three points, but it proved worth the wait.
Sharpe broke the deadlock on five minutes with a superb header from a Dylan Owen cross.
It remained 1-0 until the 69th minute when Dion Owen doubled the home lead.
And the points were sealed in the 80th minute when Sharpe scored from the penalty spot.
Second half goals from Mark Jones and Guto Sion Roberts clinched victory for Nefyn at Cae’r Delyn.
Jones netted on 53 minutes and Roberts added the second just past the hour.
In the week where Caergybi boosted their ranks with the signing of Jenson Rowlands from Bodedern, the Holyhead club’s fortunes got even better when they struck double figures against Gaerwen in the league.
Rowlands came on as a second-half substitute and netted his first for the club on 87 minutes to round off a goal-packed display from Dale Moffat’s men.
Jordan Rowlands began the goal glut with a 17th minute opener before Louis Chapman made it 2-0 from a Tom Hadley assist.
Veteran Steve Driedyk added a double for the hosts before the break.
In second half, Chapman struck two in five minutes, one a spot-kick, to complete a hat-trick, with a Hadley net-finder making it 7-0 by the hour.
James Ryan then delivered a double before Jenson Rowlands applied the icing on the cake.
Nick Dumbarton’s Bay side moved to within four points of leaders Cemaes with three games in hand after extending their unbeaten run to 10 matches with a hard-earned win over Llanystumdwy.
Mel McGinness put the home team in front on 27 minutes, but Aeron Jones made it 1-1 after 71.
The game was up for grabs and Trearddur clinched it when Kaine Bentley supplied the winner on 83 minutes.
Five goals from the prolific Azz Rogers was the highlight for Amateurs in a match which turned on a sending off early in the second half.
Rogers and Dave Williams had given the hosts a 2-1 lead at the end of a close-fought first period, Joel Rowlands responding for Clwyd.
Seven minutes into the second half, visiting keeper John Wood was red-carded for an alleged ‘kick-out’ which led to a penalty.
Joe Jones scored from the spot and from here on the Amateurs totally dominated.
Rogers netted four more to make it 25 goals for the season and 20 in his last seven matches, Sam Maddock and Morgan Davies also appearing on the scoresheet.
Caer Clwyd report…..
A really tough one to take yesterday as we went to Amateurs with a game plan and after 30 minutes it was 0-0 with us limiting their chances and having a few good ones of our own. They scored from a set piece and we responded with an equaliser straight after through Joel Rowlands.
Llandudno then scored a very good footballing goal just before half time to make it 2-1.
Second half our keeper sees red for a “kick out” when being challenged in the air by an Amateurs player with the ball in his hand in the 50th minute which threw our game plan out the window. The ref also awarded a penalty which they converted.
Few changes were made and we can’t fault the effort of the 10 men on that pitch, they gave it everything and played some nice football and created a few chances, but Amateurs are the worst team to go a man down against as they move the ball so well and attack where the space is, which they did so well, full credit to them.
Ethan Hill (2), Stan Farrell, Solomon Dickens, Josh Robinson, Corey-Lee Roberts, sub Frazer Holness (2) and Jamie Grimshaw shared the goals in a comfortable win for Penrhyn Bay.
Kieran Barnett and Mike Chapman scored consolation goals for bottom side Betws.
A 12-goal thriller saw Acton rally late to force a draw.
Kallum Pierce (3), Johnny Crossley, Adam Randles and Lewis Jones made up the Rangers six, Ethan Callaghan (2), Samuel Giles (2), Dale Williams (89 minutes) and Alistair Gibson (90) sharing the home tally.
Michael Guest led the way with a hat-trick for leaders Caerwys.
Matthew Gilsenan, Jack Wakeman, Jack Smallman (2), Stephen Lee and Ryan Rowlands combined to provide the rest.
Declan Williams, Deion Hughes and an N/A were on target for Nantlle in this home success, Harry Parkes-Smith replying for Boro, who had Sylwester Ruszkowski red-carded.
