Cemaes dropped their first points of the season as Tuesday night’s derby at Maes Eilian finished all-square.
Rees Roberts gave the home side a 14th minute lead before Keenan Downey levelled from the penalty spot for Bay on 39. The penalty was awarded for a foul on Tom Wood.
Jay Finter made it 2-1 Llanfairpwll in first half added time with his fourth goal of the season – a fiercely-struck free kick.
Wood restored parity on 55 minutes when he leapt like a salmon to head home, and two-apiece was how it stayed, Matt Reynolds going close for Bay late on when his effort was cleared off the goal-line.
Joy for Pentraeth as they picked up their first league win of the season at the sixth attempt – and what a thriller it was.
After trailing 2-0 at Bryniau, the hosts fought back to secure a 3-2 victory with three goals in the final quarter-hour.
Tigers struck first on 13 minutes when a Kelvin Frazer assist set up Jordan Pritchard to score.
Still 1-0 at half time, but two minutes after the restart Pritchard turned provider for Tom Parry to make it two.
Numerous substitutions were made by both sides, but it remained at 2-0 until the 78th minute.
The tide then began to turn as Cian Davies’ shot took a slight deflection to loop over Menai glovesman Gethin Hughes.
Then in the 80th minute – more drama. Pentraeth’s Dyfed Alston saw his penalty saved by Hughes, but the taker was following up to put away the rebound.
In the 91st minute came the coup de grace for the home side.
Kian Abbott hit a lob from halfway, the ball dropped in the box and bounced into the top corner.
Adam Hallybone (2, 1 pen) and Cian Owen shared the goals as Aberffraw battled back to celebrate a fine win at Tan Parc.
Dion Owen and Gwion Owen had put Llannerchymedd two-up with goals on 1 and 44 minutes.
Penalties king Jac Pearce Jones struck again with his fourth spot-kick of the season in Talysarn’s hard-earned draw at Eithin Duon.
Jones put the visitors one-up after 19 minutes, Jonny Sadler made it level on 54 before Aled Jones nudged Celts back in front with 68 on the clock.
However, a Kevin Lloyd equaliser after 82 bagged the hosts a point.
Veteran midfielder Paul Bryant, Tudur Williams and Arwel Williams were all on target in a good win for Glantraeth at Maes-y-Parc.
“We have a bid of £50,000….£100,000…£500,000….a million, do I see a million pounds? Sold! for £1 million pounds”
Yes, The Auctioneers of CPD Gaerwen must have felt like millionaires after achieving their first league win of the season last Saturday following five defeats.
Although Gaerwen had shown improvement of late, they were 1-0 down to Mountain Rangers deep into the second half before four goals in 20 minutes turned the day their way.
Nathan Rowlands put the visitors one-up on 34 minutes, but Ceian Roberts levelled matters after 76 from an Aled Steele assist.
Three minutes were left of the 90 when Steele was again on hand to set up Robert Boyes to make it 2-1.
And the experienced Steele was far from finished, the much-travelled front man adding two goals of his own in added time to seal the points.
It was a great day for the lower teams on Saturday.
Llangoed followed the examples of Gaerwen and Pentraeth by picking up a tremendous result themselves against high-flyers Rovers.
Matty Owen and an Anthony Williams spot kick put Llangoed two ahead and they may well have gone on to win had they not lost key man Wayne Thomas to a 44th minute red card.
After the break, Iestyn Marlow missed a penalty for Bethesda, but Adrian Roberts pulled a goal back before Marlow made it 2-2 on 86 minutes.
Hurrah for The Puffins!
Goals from Sion Thomas and Tom Hadley delivered Caergybi victory in their local derby against neighbours CPD Y Fali.
Jamielee Patterson put Cefni into a 21st minute lead, but a Luke Phillips hat-trick turned things around and banked the points for Bont.
