Denbigh and Ruthin chosen to host international tournament

Double boost for Vale of Clwyd football!

Denbigh Town’s fantastic Central Park and Ruthin Town’s ever-flourishing Memorial Playing Fields have been chosen to stage a top event.

After hosting youth sides representing Brazil, Spain and Turkey in April, the Vale will be venue for the UEFA U16 Development Tournament later this month.

Cymru will face Belgium, Denmark and Sweden between 22-28 August.

All three of Cymru’s fixtures will take place at Denbigh, with entry on the gate for only £3. Central Park also hosted Brazil, Spain and Turkey four months ago.

Adrian Harvie’s side will start the tournament against Sweden on Tuesday 23 August before facing Denmark on Thursday 25 August (6pm ko for both matches). Cymru’s final game, against Belgium, will take place at 10:30am on Sunday 28 August.

Ruthin will hold games featuring Belgium, Denmark and Sweden.

Thursday 25 August

Sweden v Belgium – 15:00 Ruthin Town

Cymru v Denmark – 18:00 Denbigh Town

Sunday 28 August
