Brodie Cole Thomas may only be seven years old but already his famous footballing dad thinks his son will become a better player than him.
Young Brodie’s father is none other than Asa Thomas, scorer of 582 senior goals at the age of 31, 58 of them in this past season for North Wales Coast West Premier Division champions Bodedern Athletic.
When Boded received the league trophy and medals after their recent win over Gwalchmai, Brodie played a full part in his dad’s celebrations.
There was also an opportunity for a fantastic photo featuring Asa, his dad Jimmy Thomas, former star of Holyhead Town, and young Brodie.
Regular photographer at Bodedern Athletic, Richard Gregson, whose son Sam plays for the first team, and Joe Owen of JWO Photography were there taking many memorable pictures on the day.
Brodie is already showing a lot of promise with the ball at his feet.
Asa said: “He will be a better player than myself in years to come, I’ve not seen a 7 year old like it.”
High praise indeed from the man who re-signed for Bodedern this week, along with his 68-goal strike partner from last season, Marc “Logs” Evans.
Asa’s 582 senior goals include a stupendous 112 for Trearddur Bay United in 2010/11.
Boded will play in the tier 3 Ardal North West League in 2022-23.
