Bro Goronwy will return in the 2022-23 season

Anglesey club Bro Goronwy have announced they will return to men’s senior football next season.

Lee Potter, the most successful manager in the team’s history, will be at the helm once more.

He will be joined by a management team of Ari Parry, Andy Swindells, Graham Jones and Richard Williams.

They will be supported by a new committee and a host of ex players ready to help return Bro to be competitive and challenging for trophies again.

Last year saw Bro temporarily fold, ruling them out of involvement in the 2021-22 season.

The Moelfre-based club was due to compete in the Tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division.

Chairman Gareth Parry promised supporters the club would take a year out to reorganise and come back stronger.

Since the club was reformed in 2003, originally entering the North Gwynedd and Anglesey Sunday League before registering for Saturday football, Bro have enjoyed some tremendous successes.

They have lifted the NWCFA Junior Cup twice in 2016-17 and 2018-19 (making it three wins in their history), were Anglesey League champions in 2009-10 and 2015-16, landed the Dargie Cup in 2007-08, Megan Cup in 2009-10 and 2015-16, plus the Elias Cup in 2015-16.

Bro were Gwynedd League champions in 2010-11, and their honours list also includes the Thomas and Williams Cup, Bwlch Car Boot Trophy and Bob Owen Memorial Shield.
