Asa Thomas passed 50 goals for the season as Bodedern stretched their lead at the Premier Division summit to eight points after making it 24 league games undefeated.

Thomas’ double moved him up to 51 in all competitions for Ricky Williams’ side, who will clinch the title if they win three of their last four matches or claim eight more points.

The prolific Thomas reached the half-century by opening the scoring on nine minutes at Eithin Duon.

Casey Gregg struck on 21 minutes and Tom Wood after 29 before Kevin Lloyd responded for the hosts on 31.

Ryan Lees put Athletic 4-1 up midway through the second half and Thomas added a fifth before Carl Griffiths notched a consolation second for Llanrug in stoppage time.

Amlwch Town 4 CPD Pentraeth 2

Cian Jones scored twice for an Amlwch outfit which returned to winning ways.

James Burgess put Town in front on 19 minutes before Jones doubled the advantage close to half time.

Jones completed his brace in the 47th minute before Kane Roberts hit back for Pentraeth on 67.

Haydn Jones made it 4-1 after 70, then Leon Owen netted from the penalty spot on 76 for the visitors.

CPD Llanberis 7 Gwalchmai 1

Ben Rowlands was a four-goal star for Llanberis as they slammed in a magnificent seven against their Anglesey visitors.

Rowlands, who had not scored previously this season, more than made up for it on Saturday as he netted on eight, 20, 49 and 56 minutes.

Kurt Hellfeld added a pair and Cal MacDonald was also on the mark, Leo Owen bagging Gwalch’s consolation.

CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 0 Glantraeth 4

Glantraeth upset the form book as they walloped a shell-shocked Penrrhyndeudraeth on their own turf.

Eleventh hammered third as Dion Evans, Paul Bryant, Aron Jones and substitute Harrison Fleming all made the scoresheet.

Another three points for Llannerchymedd edged them nearer to Division One title glory.

Manager Meirion Grieves had to have his thinking cap on after being forced to pick a team from a depleted squad and players carrying knocks from Thursday’s match against Caergybi.

Most noticeable absentee was gloves man Kenny Hughes, then after a late Covid call from his number two Liam Ewing, the task of deputising between the sticks fell on Dylan (Valley) Owen.

Medd came close on the half hour mark, Tom Kelly’s burst down the flank, his cross cut out by keeper Jason Hughes.

A near identical run into the box by Gavin Sharpe minutes later was met with the same outcome.

In the second half, the islanders carried the game to their hosts, doing everything right apart from the finishing, not through the lack of trying but the instinctive saves by the Rangers gloves man Hughes.

The deadlock was broken in the 68th minute as Daniel Thomas rose unchallenged, nodding past the this time rooted Hughes.

Llan could have closed shop with that single goal, but knew the best form of defence is to attack.

Gwion Owen, Ethan Jones and Geth Davies had shots on target, but again it was that man Gwion Thomas who settled the issue.

Thomas’ shot was pounced on by an outstretched foot of Rangers Llion Hughes, who could only deflected the ball over his own keeper into the net.

Bethesda Athletic 4 Talysarn Celts 2

Pesda stayed within touching distance of leaders Llannerchymedd by making it 11 straight wins at the expense of Talysarn.

Joe Todd (2, 1 pen), new signing Dean Redmond and Tomos Hughes put the home side 4-0 to the good before Rhodri Jones pocketed two late replies for the visitors.

Llanfairpwll 2 CPD Y Fali 1

Jay Finter found the net twice, one from the penalty spot, to secure Llanfairpwll a narrow success over Y Fali, Cai Miller responding.

Llanystumdwy 3 Holyhead Town 1

Sion Pierce, Sion Parry and substitute Cynnan Parry shared the goals as Llanystumdwy took the spoils at home to Holyhead.

The Harbourmen’s consolation goal came via Dan Lewis from an assist by player-manager Craig Brodie.
