A Jordan MacCarter strike midway through the first half was enough to secure the win for the home team.
It was top-scorer MacCarter’s eighth goal of the season in the Vets Premier Division.
Town put in a great defensive display, centre backs Chris Williams and Kev Evans having good games, while a couple of fine saves were produced by keeper Steve Roberts.
Table-toppers Ruthin remain unbeaten after taking maximum points in this battle of the leading two.

Andy Booker was a four-goal star for the visitors.
The prolific marksman compiled all of his haul in the first half, netting on 15, 17, 28 and 44 minutes.
Denbigh produced a good opening half display, going in 4-1 up, but could not get going to the same degree in the second 45 minutes.
Wanderers missed a host of chances after the break, lacking a clinical edge in front of goal.
The main thing, however, was the three points earned.
Adding to Booker’s quadruple was a single goal from Russ Vaughan on 50 minutes.
Adam Walker and Neil Wynne provided the second-half goals which booked the points for Spartans.
The pair netted on 50 and 65 minutes respectively.
