A great advert for grassroots football took place in the North Wales Coast League Reserve Division on Sunday.
This league has already unearthed a few very capable teams and produced some cracking games.
One such corker took place at Cae’r Delyn, where Nefyn pipped Llanrug 3-2 in a close contest.
Skipper Alex Lynes put the visitors in front early on, but Arwel Huws equalised on 17 minutes and soon after Osian Wynne Jones made it 2-1.
However, Llanrug were far from discouraged, and Lynes made it two-apiece at half time with a 32nd minute strike.
The game was decided in the second half, when Jack Jones grabbed the 55th minute winner.
After the match, Nefyn United’s Michael John Evans commented on Twitter: “What a great advert for grassroots footy, a proper old ding dong of a battle. We had to dig so hard to get this result but some clinical finishing from the lads I felt was the difference. Thank you to @LLANRUGUNITEDFC for cleaning the dressing room spotless and all the best.”
