Menai Bridge Cricket Club came up short in the VITALITY CLUB T20 CUP – GROUP 5 AREA FINALS on Sunday.
Having won the North Wales competition, the Anglesey club were drawn against Alderley Edge from Cheshire in the North West Area semi-finals at Tyn-y-Caeau Drive.
The Bridge elected to bat and scored 106-7 off 20 overs, in-form Robbie Jones posting 53 off 48 balls, while the only other double-figure merchants were Ashley Wood (16 not out) and Luke Jones (12), Charlie Reid taking 4-22 for Edge.
In reply, Edge eased to 107-4 in just 14 overs, Thomas Foreman hitting 42, while Mathew Jones scooped 2-15 for the hosts.
The other semi saw Lancashire’s Clifton Cricket Club take on Stone Cricket Club of Staffordshire.
Alderley Edge then defeated Clifton by 20 runs in the final.
