Prestatyn Town have added a former Wrexham midfielder and Wales international to their ever-flourishing squad.

Brandon Burrows, 21, joins the Seasiders having last played for Flint Town United in the Welsh Premier League.

The former Blacon High School pupil departed Flint in October 2020 after a two-year spell with the Silkmen where he played a major role in them winning promotion to the Cymru Premier.

Burrows was capped for Wales at under-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19 level, playing in the 2017 UEFA qualifiers in Turkey in a group that included the hosts, Slovakia and Kazakhstan.

In the same squad were future full Wales internationals, Bodelwyddan-born Dylan Levitt of Manchester United, who partnered Burrows in midfield, and defender Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Formerly with the Wrexham AFC Academy and then the youth side, Burrows made his first team debut for the Dragons as a substitute in an FA Cup tie at Stamford in October 2016.

In 2018, Burrows had a another brush with the professional game when he trialled for Cardiff City.

Then came a successful two-year spell at Flint prior to his move to Prestatyn, who will be aiming to defend their Cymru North title this season.

Burrows told Prestatyn Town’s social media: “I’m delighted to finally get it over the line and get everything sorted ready for the first league game on Saturday.

“I had four or five offers, but the fanbase at this club is absolutely fantastic and the ambitions match my own of wanting to win silverware and I want to help Ben take this club into the Cymru Premier.”

Town manager Ben Heath said: “Brandon is a player I’ve known for many years having watched and coached him at Wrexham.

“His ability on the ball is exactly what we need as he can unlock doors for our attackers.

“I’m delighted to get this deal over the line, especially as he had so many options on the table.”

Sponsorship renewal

Prestatyn Town Football Club have once again renewed their sponsorship with the UK Leisure Living Group.

This will once again include the club’s home base being called the UK Leisure Living Stadium.
