Scores and reports on friendlies played across North Wales – May 15

North East Wales League friendlies

Tommy Leonard notched a hat-trick as Connah’s Quay Nomads Vets recovered from one-down at half time to record a resounding 7-2 victory at Buckley Town Vets.

Leonard was man of the match for the visitors, whose other goals came from Leon Bowen (2), Mike Salusbury and Shaun Beck.

Eight different scorers appeared on the sheet as New Brighton Villa overcame Llay Welfare Colts 8-0.

Jack Neal, Aaz Davies, James Beck, Jared Jones, Kris Turner, Adam Blunden, Jake Moffatt and Liam Davies shared the haul.

Mynydd Isa Spartans triumphed 4-2 at new side Railway Rovers in an entertaining clash.

Sam Riley (2), Jack Aitken and Luke Woolley were the away scorers.

Liam Prytherch notched a consolation goal as Mynydd Isa Reserves went down 4-1 to a strong Penyffordd.

Amlwch Town outscored Llandudno Amateurs 5-3 at Lon Bach.

The Amateurs struck first through Mark Kelly before Dewi Thomas scored twice to make it 2-1 to the Anglesey side at half time.

Jac Thomas came on for Town in the second half and bagged a brace. Seventeen-year-old James Parker netted his first senior goal to complete the home five.

Llandudno replied twice after the break, Mike Chapman with a superb long-distance effort and Stoogie Collins also on the mark, but Amlwch took the honours.

In an all-island clash, CPD Cefni edged a 3-2 verdict at Gaerwen.

New signing Craig Evans, Ben Wright and Graham Jones were the Cefni hitmen, Lewis Owen with a double for Gaerwen, whose man of the match was Ryan Wood.

Niall Owen scored twice, including a last-minute equaliser, to secure Mochdre Sports a 2-2 draw with Llandudno FC Reserves.

Meliden and Rhuddlan Town drew 2-2, Finley Ellam and Sam Haddon for the home side, Ryan Potts and Josh Brown responding in this tussle of North Wales Coast East Premier Division outfits.
