Bodedern Athletic have added two top class signings to their squad for the 2021-22 season.

After seven years away goalkeeper Carl Jones has returned to Cae Ty Cristion.

The talented shot stopper has achieved some great successes since last being with Boded.

He has won the Cymru Alliance League and played in the Welsh Premier with Prestatyn Town and won the Welsh Alliance Division One crown with Holyhead Hotspur.

Carl was also in the Hotspur side which knocked mighty Bangor City out of the 2015-16 Welsh Cup.

Now he has decided it’s time to return to where it all started.

Boded manager Ricky Williams said: ”The last time i managed Carl he was the best keeper in the Welsh Alliance at the age of 20. He now returns with a wealth of experience behind him having played previously for Prestatyn and Holyhead.

“He’s a big presence between the sticks and commands his area so well. Add that to his shot stopping and a great left foot you have the full package. We’re building a very good squad at the minute and will be looking to make our mark on tier 4 in the coming season.”

Also joining Bodedern is striker Justin Williams, formerly of Trearddur Bay Bulls.

Manager Williams added: ”I’ve chased Justin’s signature for a number of seasons and I’m made up he’s finally committed to Boded.

He’s a pacy forward who scores goals, as we saw in the friendly games before Covid. His work rate is second to none and will be a big asset for us this season.”

Justin Williams netted 25 goals for Bulls in the shortened 2019-20 season, securing third place in the Bob Brodie Trophy competition for leading marksmen on Anglesey.

In 2017-18, he hit 36 goals for Valley, so is a proven goal-getter.
