Today sees the 2020-21 JD Cymru Premier League season restart.

Apart from Tuesday night’s Newtown v Penybont game, no matches have been played in the national league in 2021 due to Covid-19.

However, with the top domestic league in Wales having been re-granted ‘Elite’ status, phase one can now recommence.

There is a full programme of matches today (all kick-offs 2.30 pm unless stated)

Caernarfon Town v Aberystwyth Town
Cefn Druids v Barry Town United
Connah’s Quay Nomads v Newtown
Haverfordwest County v Cardiff Met University
Flint Town United v Penybont
The New Saints v Bala Town (5 pm – live on S4C)

Caernarfon Town v Aberystwyth Town (2.30 pm)

Darren Thomas will make his 100th Welsh Premier League start for Caernarfon if selected.
Striker Jamie Reed recently joined Aber for a third time. A former Welsh Premier title-winner with Rhyl and Bangor City, he is closing in on 100 league goals.
This fixture is the epitome of equality in Cymru Premier history.
In 31 meetings, Caernarfon and Aberystwyth have won 11 games apiece with nine draws.
The Canaries recently welcomed back long-time servant Nathan Craig from Flint, while manager Huw Griffiths has also brought in loan signings Jake Bickerstaff and Max Cleworth.
Returning to Aber in January were striker John Owen and local lad Harri Horwood, while new faces include experienced defender Ian Kearney and 6 ft 4 forward Dan Cockerline from FC United of Manchester and midfielder Harri Franklin.
Both Connor Roberts and Louis Bradford have had their loans from The New Saints extended until the end of the season.

The New Saints v Bala Town (5 pm – live on S4C)

Leaders Saints welcome Bala to Park Hall.
Both sides have lost just once in the league this season.
Town have never won at TNS in 17 attempts, Colin Caton’s side managing five draws and suffering 12 defeats.
In 36 league clashes, Saints have won 22, Bala just the one and 13 draws have been recorded.
League top scorer Chris Venables, 15 goals in as many matches, is a big danger for the Lakesiders, while TNS front man Greg Draper is also a man in form and one to watch.
