Nomads comfortably secured their place in the quarter finals of the JD Welsh Cup five years ago this weekend.
Cymru Alliance underdogs Buckley were in good form, having knocked out Welsh Premier side MBi Llandudno on penalties in the previous round, but their progress was to end at Deeside Stadium.
Quay missed two good chances to break the deadlock early on, Les Davies and Sean Miller unable to capitalise.
In the 16th minute, Nomads got it right when Nathan Woolfe found return loanee Robbie Parry, who sent a dinked effort into the bottom left corner.
Less than two minutes later, Callum Morris scored the goal of the game, when he cut in from the right and lifted a left footed shot over the defence and keeper into the net.
On 34 minutes, Morris got his brace with a similar finish, again cutting in on his left foot, this time inside the Buckley box and beating the keeper again.
Early in the second half, Buckley saw more woe heaped upon them when in the 49th minute Johnny Taylor was shown a straight red card after a rash tackle on Wes Baynes.
Nomads missed some good opportunities before Bucks’ Jack Leamy won a corner and forced a good save from John Danby.
Jamie Crowther made it 4-0 with a low volley from the edge of the box on 84 minutes before Dave Bryan bagged an injury time consolation for the travellers following a flag-kick.
Nomads: John Danby, Wes Baynes, George Horan, Paul Linwood, Sean Smith, Danny Harrison, Sean Miller, Callum Morris, Nathan Woolfe, Robert Parry, Les Davies. Subs used: Jamie Crowther, Ashley Ruane, Nick Rushton.
