Meet the Player: Ian Dunn (Prestatyn Sports FC)

Which clubs have you played for in your career?

Holywell Town, Prestatyn Nova, Prestatyn Town, Halkyn United, Rhyl, Buckley Town, Llandyrnog United, Denbigh Town, Rhuddlan Town, Meliden, Prestatyn Sports.

How do you feel this season has gone so far – both personally and for Prestatyn Sports?

Personally not too bad especially for my age haha! Currently top goal scorer! 🤙
For Prestatyn Sports it’s been nothing short of a disaster season! A season where absolutely nothing has gone for us!

What has been the highest point of the season for Sports to date…..and the lowest?

Highest point ? Hahaha! There isn’t 1! Good win at home against Llandudno Albion on I suppose.
Lowest? The whole season!

Which team you have played so far has impressed you the most and why?

Holyhead Hotspur. Great set-up they have at their ground and they are a very well-organised tactically aware team.

What honours have you won in the game?

Few club top goalscorer, few goal of the season; the highlight though was that massive quadruple season for Prestatyn Sports of 2014-15.

Best game ever played in?

Few years ago now when I was playing for Buckley. Buckley Town v Prestatyn Town in the cup. Friends and rivalries on that pitch that day – we won on pens! 🤙

Hardest opponent faced in your career?

Steve Evans, Wales (Photo by Mike Egerton – PA Images via Getty Images)

Steve Evans – giant of a centre back

Most talented player you have played alongside?

Ian Edwards (Edy Ginge). Talent never fulfilled

Most goals in a game/in a season?

4 in a game, 32 in a season

Describe your best ever goal

Tough one. For technique a chest and volley from about 35 yards out for Buckley Town. For absolute adrenaline an extra time injury time winner when down to 10 men against Amlwch in the cup.

What are your feelings on the changes to North Wales football coming in next season?

The ground criteria they are trying to implement are just simply unattainable for most clubs. Laughable really what they are wanting

Is there anything you’d still like to achieve in the game?

Playing at my age no! Would like to try and squeeze maybe another season out. Depending on how my knee recovers from the injury I have now
Maybe try my hand at managing and hopefully do well at that and win a league or a trophy as a manager.
