There was success at the double for Llanfairfechan Town at the weekend

Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League

Jay Whitehouse grabbed all five goals as Premier Division leaders Rhuddlan Town moved three points clear with a 5-0 victory at Y Glannau.

In the Premier Cars Bangor Premier Cup, Llanfairfechan Town defeated Llanelwy Athletic 4-2 at the Rec, Harry Croston (2), Ellis Jones and Sion Devereux the home hitmen, Ste Kirk with both for the visitors.

Ash McKinstry and Alex Stokes ensured Llandudno Athletic progressed 2-1 at Rhos United, Ben Wheeler replying.

Llysfaen were automatically awarded a 3-0 victory in their REM Jones Cup round one tie as opponents Henllan could not raise a team.

Division One action saw Llanfairfechan Town Reserves take the spoils 2-0 at Penrhyn Bay Dragons, Owen Bellfield and Cameron Hales with the goals.

Gwynedd League

Nefyn United had to settle for a 2-1 victory over Ogwen Tigers at Cae’r Delyn despite dominating throughout.

The Penwaig were constantly guilty of poor passing in the final third.

After a goal-less first half, the visitors took a surprise lead on 52 minutes.

Home keeper Ian Aikman had a rush of blood and took an Ogwen player out, so a penalty was awarded. Adrian Roberts’ effort was far from well struck, but somehow managed to find the net.

Nefyn now piled on the pressure and finally on 70 minutes Dylan Sion Jones’ miss-hit shot made it 1-1.

Five minutes later a goalbound strike was handled on the line and Jones converted the resulting penalty for the hosts.

Penwaig veteran John Gwynfor Jones played his first full match in an outfield position in five years for the club.

Bangor 1876 kept their 100% record with a 2-1 win at leaders Trearddur Bay Bulls, Dylan Summers-Jones scoring both for the visitors, while Iolo Jones replied with a penalty.

Llanystumdwy v Bethesda Athletic was called off as Pesda could not raise a team.

In the Bob Owen Memorial Trophy second round, a Bradley Bland hat-trick earned Glantraeth a 3-2 success at Bro Goronwy, Jac Thomas and Ryan Jones replying.

Waunfawr v Llangoed was called off as no match referee was available.

In round one, Menai Bridge Tigers came back from two-down to pip Talysarn Celts 3-2.

Glyn Thomas and Jac Jones scored in the first 20 minutes for the visitors, Callum Davidson responding with a penalty before half time.

Davidson levelled on 64 before Tom Parry plundered an 86th minute winner.

Anglesey League

In a fiery top-of-the-table clash a very late equaliser from Curt Williams secured Holyhead Hotspur Reserves a 1-1 draw against leaders Cemaes Bay.

Dan Jones’ goal meant half time arrived with a 1-0 scoreline for Cemaes, who had two players sent off in the closing stages with Hotspur’s leveller causing some controversy.

Connor Rees (3) and Luke Allaway guided Bodorgan to a 4-2 triumph over Cefni.
