Round-Up: Welsh Alliance, Welsh National, Gwynedd, Vale and Anglesey Leagues

Welsh Alliance

Penmaenmawr Phoenix are up to second in Welsh Alliance Division Two after beating Amlwch Town 5-3 in a thriller.

Dan Williams and Alfie Caldecott both scored twice for the home side with Ethan Jones also on target.

Ryan McKean, Ryan Rowlands and Luke McGivern hit back for battling Amlwch.

A late penalty from Marc Evans sealed Gwalchmai a 3-2 victory at Pentraeth.

Gwyndaf Hughes and Rees Roberts netted for the hosts, who had equalised late on only to lose out right at the end.

Gareth Allman and Darren Roberts were the other Gwalchmai hitmen.

Steff Toplis grabbed the only goal as Pwllheli edged past Penmaenmawr Phoenix 1-0 in the Reserves Division.

Welsh National League

Cefn Albion nudged up to third in the Premier Division following a 3-0 home victory against Rhydymwyn.

Alex Williams (2) and Callum Mannion were on target for the home side.

Owen Cordiner scored all three for Corwen in their 3-1 success at Queen’s Park in the Reserves Division.

Cai Aykroyd notched the only goal for Bala Town in their 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Reserves and Colts Division.

Gwynedd League

Trearddur Bay Bulls moved five points clear at the summit after beating Caergybi 3-1 at Lon Isallt.

Justin Williams, Tom Hadley and Dave Webb scored a goal apiece for Richard Owen’s side, Nathan Lewis responding.

Wayne Thomas scored a hat-trick as Llangoed whipped Bethesda Athletic 6-1 in a game switched to the 3G pitch at Bangor City.

Sam Gregson (2) and Llion Roberts bagged the other goals for the winners, Andy Clarke the sole Pesda marksman.

Ogwen Tigers edged a 3-2 decision at Llanystumdwy, Marc Wilson, Gethin Parry and Tomos Eames (pen) clinching the away win, Darren Parry and Kyle Williams having ensured the hosts led at half time.

Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League

Jack Hoult, Jack McDougall and Connah Atkinson all bagged doubles in Abergele’s 8-1 demolition of Rhos United in the Premier Division.

Kane Williams and Lewis Moroney also struck for Gele, who went top with this result, Shaun Davies (pen) replying.

In Division One, Llandudno Amateurs Reserves and Denbigh Development shared a 2-2 split.

James Kane and Stan Farrell were the home marksmen, Aaron Williams and Joel Rowlands for the away side.

Bro Cernyw thrashed Penrhyn Bay Dragons 6-0 in the first round of the President’s Cup.

From the start the hosts commanded play, Ioan Williams striking first from an acute angle 16 yards out.

On 28 minutes, Carwyn McFadden, who started despite a bad injury last week, made it two with a 12-yard strike.

Penrhyn rallied but found Joe Edwards between the sticks on top of his game.

In the second half Bro exerted more pressure, leading to a second goal for Ioan Williams, whose pace the visitors underestimated on the right flank.

Osian Roberts scored on 65 followed by a goal from midfielder John Gardener soon after.

Despite some great passes from Ryan Boddis, the visitors could not find the net.

On 82 minutes Ianto Roberts, who had come on earlier, beat the left defence and scored the final goal from 20 yards.

Anglesey League

Cemaes Bay claimed top spot after an 8-1 drubbing of Llanfairpwll on Friday night.

Steven Whittaker netted a hat-trick to take his season’s total to 20, Daniel Jones (2), Dafydd Jones, Luke McKittrick and Paul Williams making up the rest of the home tally, Kieran Owen replying.

Bodorgan walloped Llandegfan 6-0, Ioan Thomas (3), Luke Allaway (2) and Aaron Jones splitting the goals.
