Late penalty saves enabled Rhyl and Colwyn Bay to pinch away wins in the JD Cymru North.

The Lilywhites were 3-2 up at Llanfair United when Keighan Jones kept out a 92nd minute Karl Seliaerts spot-kick, while Bay led 1-0 at Ruthin Town into added time when Andy Coughlin denied Llyr Morris.

Asa Hamilton converted two first-half penalties at Llanfair to give Rhyl a 2-1 interval lead, Paul Griffiths replying.

Aaron Hassall made it 3-1 with a great finish from just outside the box, but Griffiths reduced the deficit by scoring direct from a corner on 64 minutes.

Mitch Bryant notched the only goal on the stroke of half time to seal Colwyn a second league win of the season.

Alex Downes was brought down on edge of box and from Sion Edwards’ free kick, Bryant back-heeled the ball into the net.

Conwy Borough bounced back from a 7-0 midweek caning at the hands of Prestatyn Town with a fine 2-1 victory at third-place Llanrhaeadr.

Iolo Hughes and Cory Williams struck for Boro, Matty Williams hitting back for the hosts.

Llandudno proved too good for bottom side Porthmadog, the Seasiders taking the honours 4-1 at Maesdu Park.

Danny Hughes, Anthony Marshall, Bryan Roberts and Dean Seager shared the home goals, Josh Banks replying for Port.

Penrhyncoch were comfortable 3-0 winners over Gresford Athletic, Jonathan Evans, Steff Davies and Liam Lewis providing the goals.
