Nathaniel MG Cup second round

Cefn Druids 1 Prestatyn Town 2

Rob Hughes’ 85th minute free kick ensured Cymru North underdogs Prestatyn knocked Cymru Premier hosts Druids out of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

Ian Griffiths’ goal for the Seasiders separated the sides at half time, and although Ryan Kershaw levelled for the Ancients on 72 minutes, Hughes provided that magical winning moment for Neil Gibson’s men.

Corwen 0 Caernarfon Town 2

Two goals inside the opening 20 minutes sent Cymru Premier Caernarfon through to the next stage at the expense of Cymru North newcomers Corwen.

Gareth Evans broke the deadlock in just the third minute and it was not long before Noah Edwards made it two for the Canaries.

Rhyl 0 Connah’s Quay Nomads 2

Europa League heroes Connah’s Quay clinched their place in the third round with a pair of goals two minutes apart in the first half at Belle Vue.

Nathan Woolfe netted on 22 minutes direct from a corner before Ryan Wignall finished well to double the advantage.

Only good stops from Keighan Jones to deny George Horan and Jamie Insall denied the Deesiders further goals before the break.

Rhyl battled back well in the second half, but were unable to breach a solid Quay defence.

There was no stopping Cymru Premier newcomers Airbus at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

A headed own goal from Gethin Stephens separated the teams at half time before the Wingmakers flew clear in the second period, Steve Tomassen, Matthew Sargeant and Alex Darlington all finding the net.

Flint Town United 5 Porthmadog 1

Former Fleetwood Town striker Alex Titchiner bagged a two-goal haul as Flint convincingly saw off Porthmadog at Cae-y-Castell.

Nathan Brown, Andy Brown and Mark Cadwallader added singles for the Silkmen, Sion Parry with Port’s sole reply.

Guilsfield 1 Llandudno 0

Adam Jenkins’ 86th minute goal was enough for Guilsfield to eliminate Llandudno in this all-Cymru North tie at Clos Mytton.

Last night: Bala Town 7 Gresford Athletic 0.
